Military bases have long been a part in the world's military advances. Some old bases like the Navy bases in Hawaii called Pearl Harbor have also witnessed so much more than you could have seen in one lifetime. Unless of course if you have been in the times of Hitler and had witnessed the second world war, then I think that will be the time that you can be at the same level as Army Bases. Some military bases, like the Pearl Harbor, have witnessed the mass destruction that man can bring about to another man.
It is the military bases like these that have seen the savagery of man towards another man. It is during those wars that Marine Corps Bases have seen the best of man, as he tries to save his comrade from the line of fire, and ends up as the one who is on the other side of the barrel of the enemy's gun. It is during times like these that military bases become man's sacrificial altar, as he ends up as part of the casualties on a deadly war. And therefore becomes just a memory only to be remembered, and can never be touched nor held close by his wife. Now you see how an ordinary military base becomes a witness to a time passed.
